Ed Schory & Son was founded in 1937, in Canton, Ohio. The primary focus of the business was the supply of coal as fuel for both residential and industrial consumption. To augment the seasonality of coal distribution, business aims were directed to the warmer weather construction industry. during the early 1950’s, as coal usage decreased in favor of other energy sources, the business focus of Ed Schory & Son became entirely directed to the distribution and supply of masonry building materials.

In the 1950’s, to facilitate better service to the industry, Ed Schory & Son became the first supplier in Stark County, Ohio to erect and operate a cement block manufacturing facility. Additionally, the company was the first in the area to introduce and utilize automated boom truck units to more efficiently and expeditiously stock block material to basement foundations.

Today, the company still operate from it’s location in Louisville, Ohio, with this same goal to best service the masonry requirements of commercial, residential, and masonry contractors; as well as working closely with architects, building departments, and masonry manufacturers/suppliers to assure the best in quality and service. The company is headed by Michael Schory as President, with over 35 years experience in the masonry field. Mike also serves as President at Schory Cement Products at the same Louisville, Ohio location, which takes pride in its production of standard cement products such as block and fittings, architectural split-face block, and masonry segmental retaining wall block.
